4 handy iPhone applications
By jove, the iPhone is one versatile device. Here are 4 applications I’ve been using, and would recommend (app links open iTunes):
Shazam
Identifies mystery songs by making a 10-second recording and comparing it to an online database. Suprisingly accurate.
Stanza
Transforms your iPhone into a ebook reader, complete with a catalogue of copyright-free books; all the classics are there.
EasyWriter
This simple app lets you write text in landscape keyboard mode, and import it into a new Mail message. Handy for long emails and notes.
Things
Well-formed task organiser (ideal for GTD) with just the right amount of features and a lovely interface. Syncs with the Mac version too.
Here are a few other notable applications I’ve come across:
- Pianist - Mini-piano. Responsive, good sound.
- DigiLite - Simple rock drum kit, with 8 pads.
- iTalk - Take voice notes, dictaphone stylee.
- Lightsaber - Great fun. For the first 2 minutes.
- Oblique - Strategies for curing writers block.
- Free Level - A spirit level. Convergence in action?
